Yangquan establishes ties with Argentinian city
Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province officially established a friendly relationship with San José de los Cerrillos city in Salta Province, Argentina on Sept 6.
Yangquan Deputy Mayor Ju Aiyun and Mayor Yolanda Graciela Vega from San José de los Cerrillos signed an agreement on behalf of both governments to be friendly partner cities, during the International Friendship City Exchange & Cooperation Dialogue that was part of the 2023 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum.
San José de los Cerrillos is famous for its mineral resources, especially its aluminum smelting industry. It serves as a key logistics hub for Salta's mining companies. The city's agricultural sector also stands out with its tobacco, grain, and livestock industries.
Yangquan in the eastern part of Shanxi has a strong industrial base. In recent years, the city has been nurturing and developing emerging industries, implementing a digital economy development strategy, and investing in industries such as new energy, new materials, next-generation information technology, and modern services.
Based on equality and mutual benefits, the two cities will promote friendly exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between their people. They will also collaborate in various fields such as technology, culture, sports, health, education, and talent development.
