Jiuqu Yellow River Lantern Array

The Jiuqu Yellow River Lantern Array is a popular traditional folk event during Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the first lunar month in the Chinese lunar calendar, in Yangshugou and Sanquan villages in the city of Yangquan, North China's Shanxi province.

The main body of the array is 19 square meters, and there are 361 wooden piles on which colored lanterns are placed. 

According to folklore, walking through the Jiuqu Yellow River Array in the four days before and after Lantern Festival can eliminate diseases and is a way to pray for good fortune and happiness in the coming year.
