Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Yangquan city, North China's Shanxi province, has drafted a series of attractive investment policies, continued to optimize its business environment and developed emerging industries since the start of the year, to create a modern and thriving industrial system. 

The zone has been focusing on emerging industries such as the digital economy, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection. 

It has worked with domestic first-class industrial research institutions to complete the research and sort out investment resources for the new materials, electronics information and high-end equipment manufacturing industries.

It has established an evaluation mechanism for planned projects, focusing on the seven major industries in Yangquan, and has founded its own industrial investment promotion bureau and provided training for the bureau's personnel.

"To develop emerging industries, we don’t just talk, but continuously optimize the business environment to attract related enterprises to settle in the zone," said an official at Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone. 

The zone has extended its internal reforms, reduced administrative processes and provided efficient services to resident companies. 

Recently, the zone's administrative approval service hall signed a memorandum with business departments to implement a chief representative approval system, avoiding the reduction of work efficiency due to layered approvals. 

Thanks to the new approval system, Yangquan Zhongguancun Zhiku Technology Service Co, for example, introduced 28 companies to the zone. It business scope has expanded to data processes, live e-commerce broadcasts and intelligent education, blockchain and the unmanned driving sectors, which has added new impetus to the development of the digital economy in the zone.

The example of Yangquan Zhongguancun Zhiku Technology Service Co is not only the result of the optimized business environment, but also a by-product of a more modern industrial system in the zone.

In terms of the digital economy, the zone has promoted the development of an intelligent networked vehicle industry, accelerated the layout of its computing infrastructure and built an innovative IT applications industrial base. It has also developed a data collection and labeling industry and constructed a smart home appliances production base.

As for the high-end equipment manufacturing industry, the zone has advanced the intelligent upgrade of its pump valves and coal machines to revitalize Yangquan's traditional industries.

In the new materials industry, it has promoted a cluster development of industrial supply chain projects concerning high-purity alumina, tungsten and molybdenum products, as well as LED sapphire substrates.

The zone has also focused on environmental protection equipment, environmental protection services and environmental governance. It has accelerated the construction of the Zhongtian Smart Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industrial Park, to push forward local energy conservation and the environmental protection industry.
