Born in 1962 in Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province, Guan Jianhua is an outstanding table tennis player.

Guan began her table tennis training in the local Yangquan Youth Sports School in 1973 and one year later, she was selected to join the provincial table tennis team before going on to compete in domestic and international tournaments. 

During her professional career over 15 years, Guan has had great achievements in domestic and international table tennis competitions, with a tenacious fighting spirit that has brought great honors to her hometown and motherland.
