The Yangquan Smart & Innovation City project in Yangquan city -- located in North China's Shanxi province -- was recently given recognition at the provincial level.

It was officially designated the Shanxi Smart & Innovation City No 7 on Nov 23 by the Shanxi Development and Reform Commission, which completed documentation on the development of the first eight Shanxi Smart & Innovation City projects. 

The Yangquan Smart & Innovation City will pursue green development and focus on new generation information technology industries and the new materials industry, based at the local China Navalley Industrial Park and Yungu Science and Technology Park. 

It will coordinate innovative resources in Yangquan city -- as well as in Shanxi province and in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region -- to attract digital intelligent technology enterprises to support its development. 

In terms of operational goals, Yangquan Smart & Innovation City will aim to be home to projects in the strategic, forward-looking and cross-border smart technology fields. It will also focus on developing intelligent technology industrial innovation clusters, to promote the region's industrial transformation and upgrading. 

Currently, the Yungu Science and Technology Park is speeding up its construction and interior decoration with its operator having been attracting investment through promotions.
