Yuxian develops circular agricultural industrial park
Some 30 villagers were out busy farming with a twist in Yuxian county in Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province on June 3.
The villagers are beneficiaries of Yuxian county's Ecological Circular Agricultural Industrial Park, which was established by Yuxian Tianyuan Agricultural Development Co this February.
Yuxian Tianyuan Agricultural Development Co transferred 800 hectares of land in Nanshe and Lingnan villages in local Xiyan town and integrated Yuxian Xinbo E-Commerce Co and Yuxian Dexin Ecological Agriculture Co through equity investment to develop the eco circular agricultural industrial park in the county.
They said the industrial park is integrating pollution-free agricultural operations, agricultural product exports, tourism and leisure agriculture.
The goal is to develop an integrated e-commerce platform for agricultural planting, processing, packaging designs, online marketing and business incubation -- and produce and sell organic agricultural and sideline products.
Since the establishment of the industrial park, Yuxian Tianyuan Agricultural Development Co has cooperated with research institutes including Shanxi Agricultural University and Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences to conduct trials and promote new varieties and new agri-technologies.
The company aims to introduce more than 10 new varieties of crops, five new technologies for forest and fruit production and three varieties of livestock and poultry.
It will develop five cooperatives for wholesale vegetables, walnut production and sales and small miscellaneous grains sectors to produce natural and pollution-free products.
Meanwhile, more than 3 million yuan ($423,561) will be invested in building 10 cattle, sheep and donkey abattoirs and in freezing and processing enterprises and shops. This will help form a feeding, breeding, slaughter and marketing industrial cluster in Yuxian county.
According to Wang Xinlin, chairman of the company, 200 million yuan will be invested in the park to build a circular economy industrial chain focusing on organic agriculture.
Once all projects are put into production in the park, it is expected to generate 5 million yuan in annual tax and profits, employ 460 nearby farmers and promote farmland planting in over 20 local villages.
