Yangquan customs calls for frank exit/entry declarations

Updated: 2020-03-25

Yangquan customs in Yangquan city, in North China's Shanxi province, officially started using the fifth edition of the exit/entry health declaration card of the People's Republic of China on March 17, according to officials.

The exit/entry health declaration card, as a vital method for customs to implement health quarantines for people entering and exiting, is used to access key information on infectious diseases early -- as well as to prevent and control the novel coronavirus epidemic more effectively.

More details and changes have been added and made in the fifth edition due to current global coronavirus situations. For example, a section on 10 disease symptoms -- such as nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting and abdominal pain -- are added. In addition, the medication time is changed from "within the last 72 hours" to "within the last 14 days".

People arriving can fill in the health declaration card in paper form on flights to China or at the customs, or in electronic form on a WeChat applet called "services for passengers through customs".

Yangquan recently issued a reminder for people to fill in their health declaration card truthfully and said they will be held accountable according to the law for the information provided.
