Yangquan adds three protected national cultural relics sites

The city of Yangquan in Shanxi province recently had its three of its historic sites included on the list of national key cultural relics sites under protection, according to local officials. 

Taishan Temple, as well as the main hall of Sansheng Temple in Yuxian county, and Machiyan Temple in Pingding county have been added to the national list. So far, Yangquan county has had 11 national-level cultural relics sites under protection, including the latest three sites. 

To the west of Yubei village in Sunjiazhuang town in Yuxian county, Taishan Temple is now comprises a main hall, an opera stage, while two small halls remain. 

The main hall is from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), the west hall of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) architecture, and the remaining structures were built during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The temple was repaired in 2015. 

The remains of the Sansheng Temple in Xiguan village in Xiushui town, Yuxian county, was are from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).

The Machiyan Temple east of Mashan village, Donghui town in Pingding county, has established in the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) and was renovated and expanded over the course of the following centuries. 

The three sites were recognized for the importance by the Shanxi Provincial Government in 2016, as provincial-level cultural relics sites under protection.
