Established in 2007, Hardtop Huaheng (Shanxi) Wear Resistant Casting Co, Ltd. is a Sino-German joint company specializing in wear resistant casting production. With a registered capital of 5 million yuan and total assets of more than 60 million yuan, it has more than 100 staff, including more than 10 technicians and two external senior professors.

Boasting a professional R&D team, and as a participant of Shanxi's key R&D projects, the company has undertaken two provincial R&D projects. It has been identified by the government as a "private science and technology enterprise", a "benchmarking enterprise of Shanxi" and a "specialized, special, outstanding and new enterprise with advantages", and has become the first company in Yangquan to obtain access qualification approval for the casting industry. It is a vice-chairman of the Shanxi Foundry Association and currently is applying to be included in the second group of "high-tech enterprises of Shanxi province".

The company keeps enhancing its core competitiveness through focusing on management and technological innovation -- actively promoting technological innovation, exploring delicacy management, taking various measures to encourage its staff to engage in technological innovation, and propelling transformation of scientific and technological achievements into production. Cooperating with Tsinghua University, the company has established a wear-resistant casting experimental base for research, producing and promotion.

Adopting advanced technology such as lost foam casting, shell casting and sodium silicate sand casting, the company keeps making technical innovations and developing new products to meet customers' needs, ending their reliance on imports.

At present, the company boasts a full set of advanced foundry equipment as well as testing equipment like a magnetic particle flaw detector, a direct reading spectrometer and a DYNATEST hardness tester, giving it an annual manufacturing capacity of 10,000 tons of wear-resistant castings. In cooperation with German Hardtop Co, Ltd, the company developed a dual-liquid bimetallic hammer head, solving ordinary hammers' problems of poor wear resistance and short service span. After entering large-scale and specialized production, the company became a supplier of the hammer head to large enterprises in metallurgy, mining, construction materials and machinery. The sales revenue of the product accounts for 70 percent of the company's total.

The company's R&D investment accounts for 3.6% of its sales revenue. It has obtained five utility model patents and three software copyrights.
