Four enterprises based in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, were included in the list of China's top 500 energy enterprises in 2022, announced by China Energy News. 

The four companies are Shanxi Coking Coal Group Co at 22nd, Shanxi Meijin Energy Co at 132nd, Shanxi Gengyang Investment Co at 181st, and Shanxi Yaxin Energy Group Co at 219th. 

In the first half of 2022, Shanxi Coking Coal Group Co achieved revenue of 27.71 billion yuan ($4.04 billion), a year-on-year increase of 44.13 percent, and net profits of 6.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 192.1 percent.

The latter three enterprises worked together to build Qingxu Fine Chemical Recycling Industrial Park, with investment of about 40 billion yuan. 

The industrial park develops hydrogen energy, carbon materials, and environmentally-friendly solvent oil industries focusing on hydrogen purification, supercapacitor carbon, and nuclear industry graphite. 

The total revenue of China's top 500 energy enterprises in 2022 grew 22.93 percent to 27.87 trillion yuan, the highest growth rate in nine years.
