Huayang New Materials Group marked its 75th anniversary on Jan 7, celebrating a remarkable journey from its early coal mining roots to a leader in new energy and materials. Founded in 1950, the group began with the coal industry but quickly expanded its horizons, moving into non-coal sectors and emerging as a key player in cutting-edge industries.
The group's pivotal transformation occurred during the reform era, especially after China joined the WTO in 2001. Focusing on diversifying into new energy materials, Huayang transitioned into high-tech sectors like sodium-ion batteries, high-performance carbon fibers, and biodegradable plastics. These efforts are in line with the company's "dual-driven" strategy, which balances strengthening the coal industry while pushing forward into next-generation industries.

A significant achievement in 2024 was when Huayang completed the nation's first large-scale sodium-ion battery production and application, positioning the company as a leader in the field. The group is also advancing the solar energy, carbon fiber, and nanofiber industries, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
As Huayang embarks on its next chapter, its innovative ventures and strategic investments will ensure continued success in traditional and emerging industries, driving the company toward a high-quality, sustainable development path.
