Yangquan recognized as a Top 100 'New Smart City' in China

At the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, Yangquan city earned a spot among China's "Top 100 New Smart Cities" based on the SMILE Index. With a SMILE+ rating, it ranked 96th nationally. This achievement was highlighted in the "2023-2024 Global Smile Cities Top 100 and China New Smart Cities Top 100 Report," which promotes cities excelling in digital and smart city initiatives.
Since becoming a pilot city for new smart city development in Shanxi province in 2021, Yangquan has prioritized integrating smart city infrastructure with digital economy growth. Key projects include the "City Brain" initiative to enhance digital governance, which aims to expand smart applications and improve residents' quality of life.
Yangquan plans to use its advantages by focusing on digital city development across various domains, including smart industries, applications, governance, and ecosystems. This strategic approach aims to strengthen Yangquan's position as a uniquely innovative smart city in China.
