In Yangquan city, green and low-carbon living has become the new norm, driven by eco-friendly lifestyles, innovative production methods and a transformed industrial structure.
The city's commitment to environmental progress and technological innovation is widely said to have spurred a rapid green transition.
At the forefront of this movement is a mini program, developed by Shanxi Tianyuan Green Environmental Technology Co, called Tianyuan Recycling.
The initiative enables residents to schedule their home appliance recycling with ease. The program not only facilitates the collection of old appliances but also delivers new ones, bringing more convenience and promoting sustainable living.
Technological upgrades at Tianyuan have significantly improved the efficiency of dismantling and recycling electronic waste.
By incorporating advanced machinery, the recycling company has elevated its recycling capabilities to a leading national level, reducing hazardous waste and promoting circular economy principles.
Yangquan's high-tech zone recently deployed 100 green electric heavy-duty trucks, significantly cutting emissions compared with traditional diesel vehicles.
The trucks are expected to reduce annual nitrogen oxide emissions by 37 metric tons and CO₂ emissions by 11,800 tons.
Additionally, the city has integrated pure electric buses, taxis and shared electric bikes into its urban transport system, providing diverse green travel options.
Yangquan's commitment is said to extend to construction as well. Its new city hospital project adheres to top-tier green building standards – utilizing high-performance insulation and eco-friendly materials and aiming for energy efficiency and sustainability.
