Yangquan city in Shanxi province has been implementing an innovation-driven strategy, fostering its industrial growth and achieving significant technological advancements.

At Huayang Group's Huairui Nano New Material Technology Co, traditional coal products are now to be seen alongside cutting-edge white nanofiber materials, symbolizing the company's transformation.

Collaborating with teams from Donghua University, the company has secured eight patents in high-end nanofiber technology, recognized as being an internationally advanced field of endeavor.

Its technological progress symbolizes Yangquan's broader innovation landscape. The city is following a comprehensive development plan – emphasizing technological innovation to drive high-quality economic growth forwards.

At Shanxi Tianrun Hengde New Material Co, advanced cement additives – a key product supported by the city's technology bureau – are now in production and are being sold across several provinces.

Overall, Yangquan has developed a "4+N" modern industrial system that focuses on new materials, new generation information technology, new energy and modern services.

Key projects like sodium-ion battery production and lithium hexafluorophosphate manufacturing plants have been completed. The city also hosts Baidu's cloud computing center, a leader in green technology.

As a pilot city for smart city development in Shanxi, Yangquan is said to be leveraging its digital economy opportunities. Additionally, addressing its water scarcity, Yangquan is collaborating with the Hebei Chitian Materials Technology Group on innovative mine water pollution controls, marking what is said to be significant environmental progress.
