The second Shanxi Characteristic Professional Town Investment and Trade Expo kicked off on July 3 In Datong, Shanxi province. Yangquan proudly showcased 215 of its specialist products from 51 local business enterprises at the event, which ran to July 5. 

The expo aimed to promote and display the distinctive products and recent achievements of Shanxi's professional towns, providing a platform for investment attraction and market expansion.

It emphasized the comparative advantages of these towns – helping to arrange commercial deals and the signing of trade contracts to boost their development and new industrialization.

Yangquan's pavilion, covering 530 square meters, highlighted the accomplishments and specialty products of one provincial key professional town, five municipal professional towns and seven developing professional towns.

A promotion called Yangquan Flavors attracted attention, with its Wei'erkang drinks praised for using white sugar as the primary sweetener, offering a great taste without being overly sweet.

The city's beverage manufacturing plant presented seven different Wei'erkang drink packages, including a soon-to-be-launched new product.

Another promotion called Yangquan Manufacturing grabbed attention – featuring in the province's promotional video twice and emphasizing Yangquan's status as the Hometown of Refractory Materials. Refractory materials are heat-resistant materials used to line kilns, furnaces, incinerators and the like in the production process. 

The city's only provincial key professional town, Yangquan Suburban Refractory Materials Town, was prominently highlighted at the event.

In recent years, Yangquan has prioritized its new industrialization as a critical path for transformation and development.

By focusing on its manufacturing revitalization, upgrading traditional industries and nurturing emerging ones, Yangquan is said to have established a modern industrial system that showcases its own particular strengths and advantages.
