Yangquan's economy maintains stable operation in 2023
The gross domestic product of Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province increased 3.2 percent to 100.27 billion yuan ($14.03 billion) in 2023, according to the Yangquan statistics bureau.
The added value of Yangquan's primary, secondary and tertiary sectors reached 1.76 billion yuan, 53.48 billion yuan and 45.03 billion yuan, respectively – up 8.0 percent, 2.0 percent and 4.1 percent year-on-year.
The general public budget revenue came in at 8.31 billion yuan, while general public budget expenditure increased 6.4 percent to 16.87 billion yuan. The city's fixed asset investment decreased 11.3 percent.
The city's grain output in 2023 was 238,300 metric tons. The output value of the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries grew by a combined 7.8 percent year-on-year to 3.01 billion yuan.
The added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual sales revenue of 20 million yuan or more – increased 0.5 percent.
Among the city's industries, the added value of the manufacturing industry grew 9.0 percent compared with that of 2022, while that of the mining industry declined 0.3 percent year-on-year.
Last year, Yangquan's foreign trade value was 1.62 billion yuan, up 53.5 percent year-on-year. Imports totaled 1.08 million yuan, up 173.7 percent, while exports totaled 540 million yuan, down 18.7 percent.
Total local retail sales of consumer goods in the city grew 2.5 percent year-on-year to 33.26 billion yuan. In addition, consumer prices saw a moderate increase of 0.1 percent when compared with the previous year.
Per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in the city grew 3.8 percent and 7.4 percent year-on-year, to stand at 40,793 yuan and 20,467 yuan in 2023, respectively.
In addition, 18,000 people found employment in the province's urban areas in 2023.
