Yangquan Zone to pilot pollution, carbon reduction
The Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Yangquan city, North China's Shanxi province, was selected as one of the pilot zones for collaborative innovation in pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction, as announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
In recent years, the Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone has been focusing on its digital and low-carbon industries, striving to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. It has also been promoting the digitalization, low-carbonization, and circular development of industries, striving to create a model area for green and low-carbon development.
Currently, the zone has completed the formulation of a plan to introduce digital and low-carbon industries, with more than 30 digital scenarios being explored. These scenarios focus on industrial energy conservation, energy conservation of buildings, and smart heating.
The construction of projects such as the independent energy storage project, a digital and low-carbon energy platform, a smart heating system, and a green sorting center of renewable resources, have been accelerated.
The zone will continue to adjust its industrial structure, transform its production methods, and promote low-carbon and recycling transformations.
