Argentina sends city delegation to Yangquan
A delegation from San José de los Cerrillos city in Salta Province, Argentina, visited Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province on Sept 7-8.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Yangquan Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Yangquan Museum, Shanxi Rongguang Power Plant, Yangquan Shengyang Wastewater Purification Co, Taolingou village, and Taolin Runjin Food Co.
The visitors gained an in-depth understanding of Yangquan's history, culture, urban development, eco-friendly and low-carbon economy, technological applications, rural development, and food processing.
Yolanda Graciela Vega, mayor of San José de los Cerrillos, expressed admiration for Yangquan's advanced urban governance model and green low-carbon circular economy and technologies, as well as its profound cultural heritage.
On behalf of the Argentinian industrial city, she expressed hope of strengthening communication and deepening cooperation with Yangquan in urban infrastructure construction, modern technology, trade and economy, culture, and education.
In recent years, Yangquan has promoted the establishment of international sister cities and enhanced exchanges and cooperation with friendly cities and partners.
So far, it has established sister city relations with Chesterfield in the United Kingdom, and Bathurst in Australia.
It has also reached friendly cooperative partnerships with Bickenfeld in Germany, Waikato Region in New Zealand, Pohang in South Korea, Berrechid in Morocco, Loei Province in Thailand, and its latest partner, San José de los Cerrillos.
