A delegation from Yangquan city attended the opening ceremony of the 16th Games of Shanxi Province on Aug 8.

It comprises 534 members, including team leaders, coaches, and athletes. 

They have been competing in 23 major events consisting of 550 sub-events. Prior to the commencement of the provincial games, the delegation had already completed 27 major sports events, such as the snowboarding, figure skating, judo, and taekwondo competitions. 

In the events that have already concluded, Yangquan's athletes proudly brought home 46 gold medals. 

The 16th Games of Shanxi Province, with Datong and Shuozhou as the host cities, comprises both competitive and mass sports. The former consists of 26 major events and 719 sub-events. The latter includes 22 major events, divided into competitions and exhibitions.
