Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province has seized the opportunity of digital economic development and accelerated digital transformation in recent years by improving its top-level design, optimizing its policies and environment, expanding the application layout, and speeding up the construction of key projects. 

As a pilot city for the nationally supported intelligent internet of things application base and a provincial-level pilot zone for new type of smart city, Yangquan has also improved its digital development management system through years of efforts. 

A raft of enterprises and projects has received support in terms of funding, application, and platform cultivation. 

Yangquan has made full use of its advantages in the data center computing sector, expanded its data products and application scenarios, and promoted the deep integration of the digital sector and the economy. 

The city has also accelerated the development of new infrastructure to provide strong computing power and network support for companies' digital transformation. 

Its new infrastructure represented by a 5G network and under-construction data center is at the forefront of such efforts, with all built-up areas at the township level and above already enjoying 5G coverage. 

The Baidu Cloud Computing (Yangquan) Center Phase II is also now fully operational, with more servers than anywhere else in the province. The city has also built a number of industrial internet platforms focusing on the manufacturing, refractory, and energy sectors. 

Since the beginning of this year, the city has been accelerating the construction of a digital governance system with local characteristics, and has become a model for the province and country in terms of urban management, smart transportation, intelligent manufacturing, smart healthcare, and many other fields.
