Holiday tourism market in Yangquan shows signs of strong recovery

The tourism and consumer market in the city of Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province recovered strongly during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21 to 27. 

Six tourist attractions in the city offered free first admission, and cultural tourism products such as temple fairs, performances, food, folk experience, snow appreciation and ice skating were held during the holiday.

More than 30 large-scale local events created a festive atmosphere for people in the city, and counties, districts and townships in the city carried out various cultural and tourism activities. 

During the holiday, volunteer service stations were set up at tourist attractions to provide consultation services for tourists around the clock and solve problems encountered during travel.

The 14 key tourist attractions in the city received 183,000 visitors during the seven-day holiday, earning tourism revenue of 4.25 million yuan ($629,329.52), more than 70 percent of the amount in the same period in 2019.

The city's rural tourist spots received 500,000 visitors and earned tourism revenue of 8 million yuan. Local public libraries held 84 activities which attracted more than 20,000 participants.
