Two industrial clusters in the city of Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province were recently recognized as provincial pilot clusters for special industries. 

They are the new energy battery materials industrial cluster in the Pingding Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the industrial cluster of high-end equipment manufacturing and key materials for new energy batteries in the Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone. 

Since the inception of provincial pilot clusters for special industries, the coal equipment and nanomaterials cluster in Kuangqu district in Yangquan, and the nano new materials cluster in the Pingding Economic and Technological Development Zone have won provincial recognition. Shanxi province has since set aside 40.98 million yuan ($6.05 million) in special provincial funds for the construction and operation of local projects. 

Next, Yangquan will guide counties and districts to improve their project planning and reserves. It will also help more projects obtain national and provincial financial support in order to promote the growth of special industries.
