The Yangquan bureau of culture and tourism recently recognized four tourist attractions in the city of Yangquan, North China's Shanxi province, as national 3A-rated tourist attractions.

The four local scenic areas are the 1947 Yangquan Memory Cultural Park, Dachang ancient village, Dongzhai Longtan Gorge, and Langyu Relics Park.

So far, Yangquan boasts nine national 3A-rated tourist attractions.

The 1947 Yangquan Memory Cultural Park in urban Yangquan is a typical example of the city's industrial culture transformation. The park renovated abandoned factory buildings, and built new pedestrian streets, garden landscapes, cultural and sports centers and supporting infrastructure.

Dachang is an ancient village where residents still maintain a traditional farming lifestyle. It boasts Huizhou architecture from eastern China and has suspended wooden houses typically seen in southern China. The whole village is located on a large mountain, and all the houses are built in tiers.

Dongzhai Longtan Gorge in Niangziguan town resembles a sleeping Chinese dragon from an aerial view. Relying on unique geological landscapes and tourism resources, the scenic area has formed three major attractions: Xiadong ancient village, Longtan Gorge and Xuanwu Lake.

Langyu Relics Park is a municipal patriotic education site in Yangquan. The park is a memorial and platform to educate visitors about War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).
