The science and technology bureau of Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province recently recognized 10 municipal technology innovation centers and 10 municipal new-type research and development institutions, part of efforts to boost local innovation. 

To promote the healthy development of municipal innovation platforms, the bureau has clarified the key support directions, application conditions and recognition procedures for the innovation platforms this year. 

Meanwhile, it has laid out and built technological innovation centers and new-type research and development institutions in key industrial fields such as new materials, new-generation information technology, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, and agriculture, with the aim of strengthening the innovation capabilities of local enterprises and accelerating the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. 

The bureau will next focus on the development needs of Yangquan's key industries, and give full play to the agglomeration and innovation effects of various platforms focusing on technology transformation, technical services, science and technology finance, and high-end talent cultivation.
