A scientific and technological "Innovation China" service event was held in the city of Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province on June 22.

The technical experts of the Shanxi Association for Science and Technology carried out research and technical services for enterprises in the city that day. 

"Innovation China" is a brand for innovation, entrepreneurship and the creation of services by the China Association for Science and Technology to serve the integration of science and technology and the economy, and promote high-quality socioeconomic development.

On Sept 2 last year, Yangquan was approved as a pilot city of "Innovation China" in Shanxi.

Since the beginning of this year, Yangquan has formulated plans, built service platforms, expanded service channels, and optimized services and working mechanisms so as to integrate technology and the economy.

Focusing on key industries such as big data and new materials, the Yangquan Association for Science and Technology has conducted industry and enterprise investigations, established a demand list, and recommended enterprise contacts and cooperation methods to provincial platforms. It has also brought in experts from inside and outside the province to serve key industrial clusters in Yangquan and stimulate innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises.

The association has also invited experts to give science lectures on new materials, big data, energy conservation and environmental protection, promoted the commercialization of innovation achievements, and conducted industrial technology direction research and judgment, common technological development, and technological evaluation for enterprises in the city. 

It has also established a team to carry out science and technology volunteer services, encouraged experts and enterprises to build innovation consortia that promote new technologies and helped enterprises enhance their innovation abilities.
