Employment in Yangquan off to good start in Q1

Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province saw 5,816 people find employment in urban areas from January to March, attaining 32.31 percent of its annual employment target, according to the Yangquan human resources and social security bureau. 

The registered urban unemployment rate in the first quarter of the year was 3.7 percent, below the control target of 4 percent.

Since the beginning of the current year, the bureau has implemented employment and entrepreneurship assistance policies, carried out labor cooperation and matchmaking, and held special online recruitment events for various groups.

Special recruitment activities targeting graduates, retired soldiers, and unemployed people have been held. Through the sharing of job information online, the bureau has built a precise employment matchmaking platform for employers and jobseekers so as to further expand employment channels for key groups.

So far, 119 companies and institutions have released recruitment information and provided 427 positions for 1,621 people, with the Yangquan official recruitment web receiving more than 20,000 views in the first three months.

The bureau held a labor service cooperation symposium with Zibo in East China's Shandong province, reaching a consensus on carrying out targeted cooperation, labor services, and implementation of employment services. 

Human resource service agencies and key enterprises in the two cities have reached intent to cooperate, laying a solid foundation for industrial and human resource cooperation in the future.

In addition, the bureau is committed to the construction of the Yangquan Undergraduate Employment and Entrepreneurship Base and Skilled Service Talent Training Base. 

In the first quarter, the bureau established one provincial entrepreneurship demonstration park, two county-level entrepreneurship incubators, and one county-level entrepreneurship demonstration park.

The city is currently home to 25 entrepreneurship incubators, which have attracted 1,586 startups and employed more than 20,000 people.
