Yangquan Municipal People's Congress hosts annual session

The first session of the 16th Yangquan Municipal People's Congress was held on Feb 20-23 in the city of Yangquan, with more than 270 deputies attending.
Acting Mayor Liu Wenhua delivered a report on the municipal government's work achievements in 2021.
The report also set new goals for Yangquan in 2022 in 10 major areas, including industrial transformation, upgrading the service industry, market player incubation, investment, reform and opening-up, common prosperity of urban and rural areas, environmental protection, people's livelihoods and social undertakings.
In the economic sector, Yangquan aims to realize year-on-year growth of 6.5 percent, 6 percent, and 9 percent in gross domestic product, industrial added value of enterprises above designated size – those with annual revenues of 20 million yuan ($3.17 million) or more, and fixed asset investment, respectively. The per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural residents should increase at least 7 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
Deputies attending the session examined and passed the report on how the 2021 national economic and social development plan was implemented by the municipal government and the 2022 national economic and social development plan.
In addition, both the overall budget revenue of Yangquan in 2021 and the draft budget in 2022 were reviewed and passed in a vote during the four-day session.
