Yangquan's top political advisory body starts annual session

Yangquan's top political advisory body – the 14th Yangquan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) – began its first session in the city on Feb 19.
The opening conference of the session was attended by 260 political advisers, including Ren Jianhua, chairman of the CPPCC Yangquan Municipal Committee.
All attendees have been performing their political duties and contributing to the city's major development as well as addressing popular concerns.
Ren delivered the 13th CPPCC Yangquan Municipal Committee's work report, reviewing efforts and achievements in 2021 and laying out plans for 2022.
Wu Jiangong, vice-chairman of the 13th CPPCC Yangquan Municipal Committee, reported on the handling of proposals from members of the 13th CPPCC Yangquan Municipal Committee.
Over the past five years, the committee collected 1,887 proposals from individuals, political parties and various organizations, with 1,748 incorporated into the city government's decision-making, development planning and departmental work for local development.
As of 12:00 on Feb 21, the new 14th CPPCC Yangquan Municipal Committee has received 366 proposals from individual and group political advisers during the session, with 335 filed for further discussion and implementation.
