Yangquan prioritizes introduction, cultivation of innovative talent

Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province has been prioritizing the introduction and cultivation of innovative talent over the past year.

The local science and technology authority has established five university scientific research platforms and six tech achievement commercialization bases, which attracted more than 30 postgraduates to the city to participate in innovation-related work. 

The city introduced four innovation teams and seven high-end scientific and technological professionals to carry out industrial technology innovation. 

The city implemented 20 talent incentive policies and measures, offering subsidies of 11.79 million yuan ($1.85 million), building 308 apartments for talent, and opening a comprehensive service counter for talent, which helped bring in 306 skilled workers in various fields.

The local human resources and social security bureau also conducted training sessions on vocational skills, which attracted 1,438 highly-skilled professionals to the city.
