Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province was committed to creating an environment conducive to innovation in 2021. 

The city gathered more innovation and entrepreneurship resources through the hosting of high-level competitions. 

The Shanxi Divisional Finals of the 10th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in the city in September, during which more than 500 companies participated, giving a major boost to Yangquan's reputation and influence in technological innovation in the province.

High-end academic exchange activities like the 2nd China Aerogel Industry Alliance Healthy Building Materials Green Technology Summit were held in the city, showcasing and sharing the city's achievements in innovation.

Yangquan made full use of activities such as National Science and Technology Activity Week, National Science Popularization Day, and Intellectual Property Activity Week to encourage innovation.

In addition, the city publicized and reported on policies, measures, typical cases, practices and experience concerning innovation through local media platforms such as radio, television and the internet.
