The simple yet elegant Niangziguan Railway Station is something of a revered industrial landmark in Niangziguan town – nestling in Pingding county, administered by Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province. The station, built in 1906, is an old working building that flaunts its European architectural style. It's a famous station on the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Railway and has witnessed major historical events, such as War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and is the only century-old station that still handles the travels of passengers on the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Railway. In 2013, it was announced it would be made a cultural relics site that is under city-level protection by Yangquan's authority. [Photo/IC]
