The city of Yangquan in North China's Shanxi province has been rolling out a series of vaccinations for kids aged 3 to 11 against the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Yangquan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, kids in that age-group are susceptible to the COVID-19 virus. A spokesman said the vaccine can effectively reduce the risk of illness and death, blocking the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring their normal lives.
It is recommended that those who meet the conditions and the requirements of the vaccination receive shots as soon as possible.
At present, the vaccine against the novel coronavirus is not scheduled to be given at the same time as other vaccines. The interval between the vaccination against COVID-19 and other vaccines should be more than 14 days. In addition, priority will be given to guaranteeing the national immunization program.
Currently, vaccines for children aged 3 to 11 in Yangquan are being supplied by Sinopharm's Beijing Institute of Biological Products and Sinovac Life Sciences Co.
