Zhang Hengshou
Zhang Hengshou (1902-91), born in Guangou village in the city of Yangquan, was a well-known historian in China.
After graduating from the History Department of Beijing Normal University in 1932, Zhang dedicated himself to education for 55 years, during which time he was devoted to teaching and researching history, especially the history of ancient Chinese thoughts.
Zhang published books such as Chinese Society, Ideology and Culture, and enjoyed a strong reputation in academia.
He once served as the director of the Association of Chinese Historians, a consultant of the China Philosophy History Association, and dean of the History Department of Hebei Normal University.
