Yangquan promotes development of cultural sector
Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province has increased its levels of investment and increased the construction of cultural projects since the start of the year, in a bid to boost the development of public cultural infrastructure and key cultural industries.
By adjusting and optimizing its budget, Yangquan has established a special fund of 10 million yuan ($1.55 million) for the development of its key cultural industries.
In January, Yangquan Cultural Museum was established, under the auspices of Yangquan Art Academy, Yangquan Mass Art Museum and Yangquan Art Research Office.
The cultural museum is expected to undertake a multitude of functions including art creation research, arts and crafts research and design – as well as basic public cultural service projects such as free tutoring and training, as well as exhibitions.
It will also do research into historical materials of literature and art – as well as be involved in the creation of dramas, radio dramas, TV drama programs and work related to the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
