The first hydrogen refueling demonstration station for hydrogen-powered heavy trucks in Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province went into use on Dec 26.
With a total investment of 21.76 million yuan ($3.33 million), the hydrogen refueling station covers a construction area of 2,191 square meters and has a designed refueling capacity of 1,000 kilograms per 12 hours. That means, it can effectively refuel 50-70 heavy trucks powered by hydrogen cells a day.
It was built by Shanxi Yangxiong Hydrogen Energy Technology Co, a joint venture of Shenzhen HydraV Heavy Driving Force Technology Co – a subsidiary of Shenzhen Center Power Tech Co – and Yangquan Coal Chemical Industry Co, which is a unit of Huayang New Materials Technology Group based in Yangquan city.
Mayor Lei Jiankun told the opening ceremony that the station was a major breakthrough for Yangquan city in the new energy sector.
She hoped that Huayang New Materials Technology Group would take the operation of the station as a start and expand demonstration applications, deepen cooperation with Shenzhen Center Power Tech Co and drive the development of the fuel cell industry with heavy truck demonstration applications.
