Festival promotes culture of Yangquan

The second Yangquan Cultural Festival was held in Dayangquan village in Chengqu district, administered by Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province, on Dec 20-22.
With its theme of inheriting a thousand-year history and culture and storing Yangquan memories of past times, this year's festival consisted of more than 20 events.
They included the opening ceremony, events marking the winter solstice, cultural fairs, an intangible cultural heritage display and a photography exhibition.
It aimed to celebrate the culture of the local ancient villages, stimulate the vitality of cultural development, advance the integration of culture and tourism and build a platform for promoting and showcasing Chengqu district through its various folk custom activities.
