Yangquan holds forum on frontier smart IoT technologies
Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province held a forum on frontier technologies in the intelligent internet of things (IoT) on Dec 19.
The forum, sponsored by Chinese Institute of Electronics and Yangquan government, aimed to promote the development of the intelligent IoT and security applications, as well as to advance the industry-university-research integration and development.
The event invited experts and young scholars in the field of the intelligent IoT from across the country to discuss cutting-edge technologies, analyze industry innovation hotspots and share their practical industry experiences. The guests conducted round-table dialogues on top issues in intelligent IoT technology applications.
Mayor Lei Jiankun gave a brief outline of IoT development in Yangquan city. Lei said the city -- with solid commercial foundations and a complete industrial ecosystem -- is an important birthplace of Shanxi's modern industry.
Seizing the opportunity for building a pilot intelligent IoT applications base, it has promoted technology, applications and model innovations in the intelligent IoT industry. It has also introduced and developed intelligent IoT projects -- such as 5G-based intelligent mining and telemedicine projects -- and formed an intelligent IoT industrial chain ranging from tech innovations to applications, she said.
The forum provided an opportunity to build a platform for the display and exchange of new achievements in the intelligent IoT sector, and to attract advanced technologies and innovative applications to come and settle in Yangquan.
During the event, Yangquan government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese Institute of Electronics. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation on the integration and application of the intelligent IoT industry in Yangquan, as well as on personnel training and the commercialization of technological achievements.
