Yangquan pilots medical insurance payments reform
Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province was recently selected as a pilot city for the reform of national medical insurance payments, making it the only such pilot city in the province.
The city will pilot the overall implementation and management of regional budgets, realizing full coverage of hospitalized cases and formulating support settlement methods. It will also pilot strengthening regulatory measures, constructing data centers, improving management agreements and boosting professional technical abilities.
In accordance with the requirements of a notice issued recently by the National Healthcare Security Administration, the pilot cities in the program will build databases of major disease types and comprehensive disease types, as well as catalog payments for different diseases according to their local conditions.
In one to two years, these pilot cities will realize a multiple hospitalization medical service payment system based on types of diseases.
