Yangquan residents enjoy smart, convenient public services

Updated: 2020-07-14

Residents in Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province have increasingly enjoyed more convenient, efficient and smart public security administrative services since local police stations launched their one-stop services platform in March.

"I once had to go to the vehicle management office to deal with my driver's license and it used to take me at least half a day to handle. Now everything is getting more convenient," said Mr Ge, who recently updated his driver's license in a few minutes at a police station near home.

Through the one-stop service platform at local police stations, Yangquan residents can handle 27 areas of civil affairs, including traffic services and census register management, at 52 police stations across the city, according to Hou Haifang, director of the work guidance office at the Yangquan public security bureau.

"Whether it is in urban or remote rural areas, people can enjoy police service at the doorstep," said Hou.

Since the platform was launched, local police stations have handled nearly 70,000 cases, including 67,116 cases of public security and census register management, 1,858 cases of traffic management, and 14 cases of entry and exit services.
