Yangquan city held a synchronized project start-up, contract signing and production start-up ceremony on March 31, according to local officials. 

The director of Yangquan development and reform commission reported on the current project construction situation in the city at the ceremony, where the municipal government of Yangquan and local district and county governments signed partnership agreements with companies.

The ceremony saw 29 projects with a total investment of 28.41 billion yuan ($3.99 billion) signed on the spot, while 56 projects with a total investment of 17.13 billion yuan resumed construction and 10 projects with investment of 668 million yuan went back to production. 

The projects cover industries such as manufacturing, energy, next-generation information technology, new materials and modern service, which officials said will further optimize the city's industrial structure and advance local high-quality development.

To date, Yangquan has resumed construction and operations at 273 projects, of which 102 are new projects.
