Zhao Jiabin from Yangquan city, director of North Shanxi province's second medical aid team to central Hubei province, devoted himself to clinical work at a Wuhan cabin hospital on arrival in the epicenter of the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak in China on Feb 9.

A week later, Zhao was sent to the headquarters of the virus prevention and control operation at the hospital.

There he worked to help coordinate timely communications between the facility and hospitals at the same or on a higher-level, making overall arrangements in terms of materials and equipment allocations and medical diagnosis guidance.

Zhao and his colleagues are responsible for reading, comparing, screening, sorting and categorizing all uploaded CT scan films -- work which governs whether each patient can be discharged or not.

He has to not only record a ward's requirements in detail and convey the response from the headquarters, but to also manage time well to work in an orderly and efficient manner.

Taking over the new task, Zhao quickly integrated into the new role. From 7 am on Feb 17 to midnight on Feb 18, he was continuously registering, screening, analyzing, informing and transferring the CAT scans of patients.

"I'm always at the front line to help patients recover. No matter where I am and whether I wear protective clothing or not, I am one of soldiers in the battle against the epidemic," Zhao said.
