The first Yangquan Children's Programming Contest will open in local Yangquan Library on Nov 16. 

School children aged between 6 and 12 are allowed to register for the competition for free. The registration period started on Oct 30 and ends on Nov 8, and anyone interested in it can call 17735314320 for details.

The programming contest, which is sponsored by Yangquan Education Association and Yangquan Library and organized by Yangquan Shiyou Electronic Technology Company, aims to cultivate children's logical and abstract thinking abilities, and to improve their scientific and technological awareness. 

The event will give one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes and several excellence awards for A and B groups.
