Shanxi Institute of Technology
Shanxi Institute of Technology, founded in 1984, is located in Yangquan, Shanxi province. The regular full-time college of undergraduate education was officially approved by the Ministry of Education on May 27, 2014.
The institute so far has 13 departments (divisions/centers), such as the department of mining engineering, the department of geology and environmental engineering, and the department of mechatronic engineering, along with 25 undergraduate majors and more than 12,000 students. The institute is equipped with sports facilities such as a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a badminton and table tennis hall (performance art center), a playground with synthetic racetracks, a basketball court, and a tennis court. In 2016, it was designated as one of the pilot schools for the transformation and development of colleges and universities in Shanxi Province, and a beneficiary of the "Data@China The Hundred Universities Project" that innovatively integrates production and education under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. The institute keeps striding forward in becoming a local application-oriented undergraduate school after acquiring the titles of Model Unit of Yangquan, a civilization unit among Shanxi universities, Labor Day Award of Shanxi Province recipient and others.
