Pingding No 1 Middle School was set up in 1903, which is one of seven new-style schools in Shanxi province.

Located at No 1 Xiguanyizhong Street of Guanshan town in Pingding county, Pingding No 1 Middle School has buildings with reasonable layout, advanced teaching facilities, professional teachers and wonderful environment, holding 327 teaching staff and 3,910 students in 78 classes. The school includes two campuses and three regions and it is under construction for enlargement.

Pingding No 1 Middle School has won a number of honorable titles since its establishment, such as the national experimental school of modern educational technology and Shanxi model high school.
