Founded in 1958, Yangquan Chengqu District People's Hospital is located at No 23, Qingnian street, Yangquan. Its predecessor was the staff hospital of Shanxi Yangquan Iron and Steel Group Co, Ltd. After Shanxi Yangquan Iron and Steel Group Co, Ltd. in July 2004 became bankrupt, the hospital was transferred to Yangquan Chengqu District Government and renamed as Yangquan Chengqu District People's Hospital.

The hospital is a 1st-grade A-level hospital, a staff medical insurance, urban residents' medical insurance and New Rural Cooperative Medicare System (NCMS) designated hospital. In November 2000, the title "Yangquan Specialized Burn Hospital" was given to the hospital with the approval of Yangquan Health Bureau. In December 2007, the Chengqu Government approved the establishment of the Beidajie Street Community Health Service Center on the basis of the hospital. The Chengqu Elderly Care Center was established in July 2014. Therefore, it is now known by three names with the same personnel build-up. The hospital has a registered capital of 11.67 million yuan and its fixed asset is about 10.86 million yuan.

The hospital covers an area of 3802.72 square meters, a building area of 5,378 square meters, and has 100 beds. There are 50 registered workers (including one internally pensioned worker); 50 on-the-job workers, including 41 health workers (including one internally pensioned worker) and nine non-health workers. Among them, four have senior professional titles and 28 have intermediate professional titles. There are 19 doctors and 19 nurses.
