Engineering Hospital of Yangquan Coalmine Group General Hospital, founded in 1957, is known as the former public health center for mining bureau and mine companies and was renamed to the worker's hospital of Jiangxi Heavy Industrial No 7 Coal Mines. In 1972, it was moved back to Yangquan from Jiangxi Province to form the public health center for Yangquan Mining Bureau's engineering department. In 1980, it was converted into the hospital of Yangquan Mining Bureau's engineering department, and in 1995, it was assessed as an upper third-class hospital by the Municipal Health Bureau.
