Hetao, or walnut, along with almonds, cashew nuts and hazelnuts, is one of the four major nuts in global market. Yuxian county in Yangquan is famous for its walnut, which boasts big size, thin shell and is crispy, fragrant and easy to get its kernels. 

Mian hetao is the major variety planted in Yuxian. Its kernels are light yellow and the oil content is up to 70 percent. The annual output is more than 570,000 kilograms.

The products are sold across the mainland and Hong Kong, Canada, Korea, Japan and India. The annual export volume can reach 70,000 kg.

The Mian hetao produced in Daxili village, Shangshe town, Yuxian county won the silver prize at the National Agricultural Exposition in 1994.
