With the approaching May Day holiday, the city park service center in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, has once again launched the "explore parks by metro" route, helping both out-of-town visitors and locals enjoy a thorough park-hopping experience.
First Stop: Shuangta Park
Shuangta Park covers a total area of nearly 90 hectares, including 64 hectares of green space, 8 hectares of landscaped water features, and 18 groups of antique-style architectural complexes spanning 1.3 hectares.
Transportation:
Option 1: Exit at Metro Line 1's Shuangta Station (Exit A) and walk west for about seven minutes.
Option 2: Take buses 820, 23, 836, 843, 812, or 816 to Yongzuo West Street Intersection or Shuangta North Alley Stop.
Second Stop: Di Renjie Cultural Park
This park is a historical and cultural landmark dedicated to Di Renjie, the renowned Tang Dynasty (618-907) chancellor. Covering over 17,000 square meters, it features the Di Liangong Ancestral Hall, Di Renjie's former residence, ancient Tang Dynasty scholar trees, and the Di Liangong Hometown Stele.
Transportation:
Option 1: Exit at Metro Line 2's South Neihuan Station (Exit D) and walk 10 minutes.
Option 2: Take buses 52 or 801 to Jiannan Bus Station and walk five minutes.
Third Stop: Longtan Park
Longtan Park spans approximately 43 hectares, including a 16.5-hectare water area. Beyond its iconic Longtan Square, highlights include the oasis plant theme zone, children's activity area, west gate square, waterside corridor, Yudai bridge, lakeside platform, Longyin island, and Fengming pavilion.
Transportation:
Option 1: Exit at Metro Line 2's Jihu Camp Station (Exit B) and walk west for 10 minutes.
Option 2: Take buses 27, 56, 828 (Inner Ring), or 805 to reach the west gate or south gate.
Fourth Stop: Xuefu Park
This park covers 204,000 sq m, with 110,000 sq m of green space and 80,000 sq m of water features.
Transportation:
Option 1: Exit at Metro Line 2's Xuefu Street Station (Exit D4) and walk east.
Option 2: Take buses 51, 824, 840, 39, or 849 to access the west gate or south gate.
