As the 2025 Chinese New Year approaches, the 11th Taiyuan Temple Fair is set to be held at the Taiyuan Zoo from Jan 29 to Feb 12.

During the temple fair, the food street will offer nearly 100 unique and flavorful dishes from all corners of the country. Visitors can not only taste the soft and sweet traditional Lantern Festival dumplings from Qingdepu, a treasured part of the local cultural heritage, but also discover trendy, popular snacks popular among young people.

The cultural creative market will feature booths showcasing intangible cultural heritage items such as paper-cutting, sugar painting, dough figurines, and hot-press paintings. Visitors can try their hands at them under the guidance of artisans, experiencing the rich cultural heritage and unique charm of these traditional arts.

During the temple fair, traditional folk performances such as shehuo will be held, with performers dressed in elaborate costumes reenacting ancient legends and showcasing traditional folk charm. A series of classic Jin Opera performances will also unfold, with actors using graceful singing and beautiful gestures to lead visitors through the cultural nuances of Shanxi.

Additionally, bumper cars, bouncy houses, thrilling slides, and more will be available at the temple fair. Whether its children or young-at-heart adults, everyone can have an unforgettable Chinese New Year experience.
