Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, held a low-altitude tourism test flight and the EHang manned electric vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) aircraft delivery event on July 28.

The general aviation industry is a national strategic emerging industry and an important area for nurturing and developing new quality productive forces. In recent years, Taiyuan has been focusing on developing into a national general aviation industry development demonstration city.

It has promoted the creation of a national civil unmanned aerial vehicle test area, accelerated the cultivation of enterprises and industrial sectors, enriched general aviation business formats and application scenarios, and accelerated the development of the entire general aviation industrial chain.

This event is an important measure meant to enrich the "low-altitude + cultural tourism" concept in Taiyuan and promote the integration and development of the low-altitude economy, and culture and tourism industries.

It has also provided an industrial exchange and cooperation platform for domestic enterprises in the low-altitude economy.

The event was organized by the administrative committee of the Xishan demonstration zone. Xishan will plan and design drone low-altitude sightseeing flight routes around the needs of air traffic, sightseeing, and public services.

It aims to form a municipal low-altitude tourism transportation network and strives to explore and lead the development of the province’s low-altitude economy.
